Road racing from 5ks to marathons to walks and bike racing have become more popular over the last 10 years. They’re a common way for charities to raise money and they bring visitors from around the Metro and region to the City which has a positive economic impact for the area.  However, as the number of races increase, the impact to residents and businesses on race routes increases as well. The increased popularity and frequency of events led to a change in the Race Permit Ordinance moving the race permit process over to KC Parks & Recreation management. KC Parks in turn hired Evenergy Events & Sponsorships to support their efforts.

Evenergy’s role is to approach the process holistically looking at impact throughout the year for all stakeholders from the Race Organizers & Directors, The City and all the departments involved as well as the Residents and Businesses. This balanced approach will help KC Parks create the environment where Kansas City is seen as a great place to hold a race.

We have created KC RaceDay as a central source of race information for Race Organizers/Directors as well as Kansas City’s residents and businesses. We hope you find this information useful and we look forward to your feedback.
